Tides of Terror

Elana's Adventure Log(Entry 2)

Its been awhile since we left the unfortunate town of Seawell, the place where we first where we met Mitchel Miles. Pursuing that monster led us to another town, where an ettin had tormenter the people. However, the “ettin” was once a human and, through our efforts, had recovered his human form. It turned out that he had killed Mitchel when he was an ettin but, when we returned to town, we found the doctor next to an open grave and a corpse. We asked when he dug up the grave but he had not…it was open from the inside. Turns out that Mitchel Miles is now a morgh and the body was his first victim as one, which became a zombie apparently. Its just my luck that we would run into those horrible undead creatures. We began to pursue him but we ran into several monsters on our chase, including a giant plant which killed ettin-man. Eventually we ran into a small city, where we rested and resupplied. It turns out that the city has been dealing with undead but of a different kind. They been fighting “wormy zombies”…ugh thats disgusting to even think about. Unfortunately a “normal” zombie was seen so that most likely means Mitchel was near. We bought a bag of holding, which Farakard holds, to hold our heavy stuff and decided to meet in the morning to investigate. The next day we decided to look at an abandoned mansion. Inside we found a secret passage way. We found a room in which a dark feel overcame us, but I think we are all fine. Coward then spoke about a red door and Gil dying because of a morgh-like creature, but we paid no attention to that because he seems to be like that all the time, he is just more annoying now. We went through the door, which was red by the way, an entered a room where a squid skeleton attacked from the flooded floor, but we quickly dispatched it, although I may of used a little too much of my power. As we continued we entered several rooms. On had this “skincakes” which attached to everyone except me and tool a good portion of Farakard’s skin. In another, through yet another red door, we ran into a woman who said that the seal was broken and proceeded to attack us. She was obviously undead so I went all- out on her, but she died quicker than expected. In one room, a monster like no other waited for us… a two-headed skeleton giant. That thing did not go down even after we all battled it, We tried running but it followed. I guess, in fear and rage, I got a little too close to the action and a little carried away. I used up all my power and, luckily, my construct took the blunt of the damage so the rest could get a good hit in. We dubbed that ugly undead dude as a “Skelettin.” We went in the room it was found in to see what it guarded and we found a couple of vials. We the got the heck out of there.

Session 6

Curse those incompetent dwarves! It was problem enough that the people at the Sanatorium lost that demon child, but the temple he was sent after his capture lost him as well! I was sent to take Mitchel to trial after all of his years without being able to recover after he murdered his family, little did I know that I would be traipsing around the world searching for him, all while he kills innocents along the way.

I arrived at Seawell nearly a week ago, and was given the aid of a local Paladin, but we were unable to find him at his old house. I ten went to search for the killer in the town, but I have come to learn that he attacked an inn where the paladin and his comrades took the madman down. As I’ve stated earlier, this was all for naught, as Mitchel easily escaped.

I believe that the Miles boy went up north, so I hired the Paladin and his allies to take me in chase of the depraved man. Along the way, we met a curious fellow who warned us of dire consequences. That, coupled with the uncharacteristic appearance of an Onikage in untainted lands, and the strange appearance of monstrous centipedes in the open, leads me to believe something terrible is on the horizon.

We arrived at the town of Newkeep, where we witnessed the tail-end of an Ettin attack. I found out that one of the victims of this beast was a stranger who vaguely matched Mitchel’s description. Unfortunately, the locals were not keen on digging up any bodies until the Ettin was taken care of.

Elana's Adventure Log(Session 5)

Its seems like worlds ago when I first went through the transformation process. I remember waiting and hoping that the heroes would return to fix the devil’s doing. I waited for years just sculpting in my new home.It seemed as it were only yesterday I began to play with psionic formation and creation. But today is the day when I finally travel to improve upon my skills and attempt to be what those heroes were, they day I begin to fight for my father and all who suffered from that monster. I boarded a ship headed to a small coastal town on a more dangerous part of the world hoping to hone my skills. Along the way some folk were found drifting in the sea, a young man and a elf. Fortunately for them they were okay. As the boat continued it crashed on a sand bar and pirates stormed a ship. Some poor soul ran to fight but was quickly killed. I created my powerful construct to battle the scumbags and soon turned the tides of terrible conflict into our favor. After killing those jerks those on board got off to see what the damage was and to see why the light house had steered the ship the wrong way. Turns out that the ship is repairable and that the “lighthouse” was a fake. The elf, some crew members and I ventured to the actual light house. Once inside we found the corpses of women and children. We deducted that those scumbags were the reason for this…this atrocity…I’m glad we killed them, but I wish I could punch them in the face some more. After that venture we returned to the ship only to find a weird fish guy in the ship. Luckily the gnome lady, who had earlier helped to heal a dwarf who had fallen unconscious in battle, dazed the intruder. We tied him to a pole and carried it with us towards town. Before we go there some lizard people stopped us but after a brief talk were glad to hear of our triumph over those ugly pirates. We now head into town…

Field Report (Session 4)

My lady, I have come to you to report that I have dispatched of the pesky intruders who have come at your door. I can confirm to you that they were indeed from the party at the Hatlock Manor. They were apparently led by the Captain, who seemed to wish to sneak inside disguised as one of the guards. I must say this party was extremely foolish: When I first caught sight of them, they had attempted to fight an Energon without any preparation whatsoever. I was surprised to see that they succeeded. But seeing that they survived with their resources depleted, I took that as my opportunity.

What fools they were! They had just recently seen how dangerous the straw cottages of the village were, yet they decided to rest for the night with such close proximity to the Keep’s grounds. I almost felt pity for them when I realized that they had locked the door. As if a locked door would keep my rats and I away! They neglected to check the straw roofs and the small holes that we squeezed beneath! They were easily dispatched, and I left their bodies to rot in the swamplands where they lay. There were two more among them, two women who fled into the swamps at night. They appeared to be of no consequence, so I allowed the swamps to take them. I shall keep an eye out for any more attempts to enter the castle, and dispatch of them quickly should they try anything again. I know the likelihood is high, given the lack of intelligence of the group, and I will enjoy spilling their blood when they come back!

Hawkish Diary (Session 3)

We awoke to find most of the crew had food poisoning. Isnt it the captains responsibility to make sure this doesn’t happen? Despite my protests, we moved out with half the group. Maybe a smaller group will be able to get around easier. And maybe the world will miraculously get more intelligent.

We found the castle we have been looking for. There was a small, petty, little village just outside it. It seemed like the town was empty. We eventually found a single person hanging around in the village. He seemed absolutely terrified that we were going to kill him. Why would we kill him? Apparently, after we calmed him down a bit, he told us that the people inside the castle killed everyone. We decided to check out the castle after hearing that.

When we got to the castle, we were attacked by some almost random arrows. Jeckkrov was put down almost instantly. I dragged him to cover behind some of the small buildings around the areas. Something about Jeckkrov seems weird so i didn’t cure him immediately, rather, i got him some regeneration. Seemed to be a good idea, when he got up, it seemed like he used a spell of inflict wounds to heal himself. Looks like hes got some connection to negative energy. When i next looked around, the fool of a first mate was missing. Why the hell did that fool of a captain put this coward kid in charge?

After helping Jeckkrov up, who seemed to be extra winded for some reason, Nigel showed up. I quickly cast a spell on his weapon to help him smash stuff. That is his job aint it? Next thing i know is that the brute was making a suicide charge on the main gate. Well, maybe not a suicide charge. He made it to the door and started smashing. It turns out that the castle defenders cant defend the gate. Who would have thought. Gotta keep that in mind when making a castle. After a moment i join Nigel at the Gate. He quickly breaks it down and starts charging UP the inner walls after the rest of the defenders. I move into the castle behind him, with the others that just turned out to be hiding. i moved out to check one of the sides of the portcullis. Just as i reached the inner door, it opened to reveal a masked figure. He caught me off guard and slashed at me. And caught me. Swords REALLY hurt. That is one piece of knowledge i could have lived without. I Instinctively grabbed him and cast my only offensive spell. He melted in a burst of negative energy, and i ran back around the corner to the rest. Turns out the ones I encountered weren’t the only ones moving against us. After a moment, i felt something hit me, and i passed out.

What I thought was going to be an interesting day turned into a jumbled mess of relative stupidity. Most of our group had come down with a sudden case of food poisoning which is hard to imagine since the smell of spoiled meat is very distinct. Our “intelligent” captain then decided to put Ol’ Peter Pan in charge who then lead us to an abandoned town. He then thought it would be a good idea to enter the castle and get to the source of the problem. We were met with a volley volley of arrows. One of the arrows managed to pierce my gut and I blacked out. I woke up next to the thankfully intelligent Aria behind an empty hut still under fire from the castle walls. Peter Pan was nowhere to be seen so I assume that he ran away. Also I could not see the short one anywhere so I assume he ran away as well. Nigel then showed up out of nowhere and managed to break down the castle gate. Once inside the brute began to scale the inner wall and pick off our enemies one at a time. Meanwhile us non-fighters moved in behind Nigel just to cornered by the enemy. Once again I was knocked out only to wake later to the sight of Aria and the other short one over Nigel’s shoulders running away. I managed to crawl away just enough for Nigel to come back for me. The other short one was bleeding quite a bit but I was unable to stop it. I believe he did not make it. That is one more thing I have to dissect. My breathing problems started again during the fight. I must find a way to fix it. I feel that if we actually had a plan, things may not have turned out the way they did. Jack will never be a good leader or captain of the ship. I will see to that personally.

Results:
- Imperative that I continue my research
- Fix food poisoning
- Punish Jack

Adventure Log. Session 3

When I woke up this morning, most of the ship’s crew was sick and the captain put the kid in charge. We were suppose to find the suspect behind the Hatlock murder who lived in the swamp. I don’t even care about this so I confronted the captain about this. He agreed to let me have his shares of this expedition, a nice payoff. So the kid, the doctor, the woman, the gnome, the big guy, and I walked to wherever we were going. These idiots STILL don’t clear the path, I swear they are all barbarians. After a while of traveling we found a village that was made of grass huts and tents with a castle at the center and fog all over, this is just creepy. I heard coughing in one the huts so I pointed it out and I took cover. For some idiotic reason, the gnome threw a rock into the window, luckily it was only some insane guy in the hut. We explained what we were here for and he confirm that whoever we are looking for is in the castle. When we walked up to the door, arrows flew out knocking down the doctor and then some loud bang happened. I could not hear so I decided to take cover behind a hut. I noticed that the others did the same except for that kid…he ran away, some first-mate he is. I pulled out my rope and grappling hook and signaled to the others that I was going to scale the wall. Just before I moved into position, the big guy ran up to the others and started to bust down the door. I decided to keep climbing, give them the height advantage. When I got to the top I saw that the tip of one of the castle spires was broken while the other was not. Whatever lived here doesn’t know how to make things look correctly, so I climbed up to the complete one and broke it, and when I was done it looked perfect. When I looked over to see the others, they were retreating. This gave me the perfect opportunity to have a look around. I checked out two rooms and found some gold, two dice, and an old deck of cards. I noticed that some of the creatures were returning to their post, so I laid down a card as bait…I didn’t work…I waited so long my hearing returned! I then decided to jam the locks on the doors, trapping a couple of those things. I then tied a rope to the top of a roof, so that I can get my allies in the fortress without a problem and so that I can move about easier. I saw one of those things on patrol on the outer wall. That was my chance to get one of them and see what they are, because I couldn’t tell…they had masks. I made a lasso out of my other rope and when he came by I tied him up. I then jumped off the roof, bringing him down off the wall and out of the castle. He seemed like he was still able to beat me up, so I shot him and I…sort of killed him. Oh well I’m sure that a corpse is better than nothing.

Hawkish Diary (session 2)

We finished exploring the dank, dark crypt. Why couldn’t it have some great dark secret library? Provided some help with the local guards moving the unconscious and idiotic to the guard house. Always a good idea to stay on the guards good side after all. Rested for the remainder of the night in the comfortable safety of the guard house. The next day, the halfling had apparently decided to run away. Bad idea. It was decided that we should go with the PIRATES to find the one responsible for the Spawn of Kyuss being active in a small, out of the way town like this. I dont mind looking for these things, it could be quite… enlightening.

After a week of preparation, we disembarked with the pirates. During the first leg of the journey, i acquainted myself with the ship ‘doctor’. An old man with a penchant for the necrotic. As bad an idea as that is, hes still the most intelligent one on the ship, well, aside from yours truly. Shortly into the first day, the ship was ambushed by Kappa. What were they doing on the ocean? We fought them off, but it was a close run thing. Next Kappa I see is getting both of my Javelins jammed up its rear. After the fight, it was quite necessary for us to dock to resupply.

We stopped at a little town, barely even worth mentioning. We got some supplies, including a few scrolls. Why the ship didn’t have a few healing scrolls or wand was to obscure for me to ever answer. After loading up again, we moved on to the final destination. After the uneventful remainder of the journey, we landed and started heading inland again. We were ambushed, again, by a group of Mongrels. That was a joke. Note to self, NEVER piss of the big guy. I do not want to be used as an impromptu club like the guard was. Seemed like the Mongrels were on the rich side, we had a lot of stuff to carry around so we headed back to the ship for the night.

Adventure Log. Session 2

The Hatlock heist was a mild success. I was able to get some gems and jewels but that ghsot ruined everything. Eris is missing and I was unable to get more stuff. Then the local guards locked me up with some fools, but i escaped as always. I went back to the mansion to score more treasure and find Eris, you know kill two birds with one stone. But when i entered, that ghost stopped me again but she wasn’t able to mess with me. She told me to lift some curse. Seemed like she didn’t want to attack. Oh well. I decided to leave and that I needed some cash so I took some from this gnome. I saw the ship where the guests from the Hatlock place were going to and decided that I would be able to get some treasure from there. I sneaked on but some jerk found me. Now I’m “part” of the crew. Oh well, maybe this way I’ll be able to find their stuff sooner.
Some weird things attacked after a while of traveling and one knocked me out. I have got to stop blacking out, it can’t be good for me. When I woke up we were sailing into a town, a perfect place to sell the Hatlock jewels. 100 gold, not bad for a night’s work. I went ahead and spent it on a chest and a lock, gotta keep my stolen goods safe don’t I?
I’m stuck going into a swamp with these chumps, and they don’t even clear the path of fallen branches and stuff…whats wrong with them!? As we walked on the big guy and old guard nearly fell in a hole and then were ambushed. Luckily for them I shot one of the ambushers. And besides, the big guy seems like he can take and give a punch, which can be useful for me later on. After the fight I scored a nice set of armor, I might be able to sell it for a good price if I make it a novelty. I’ll need to wait to sell however, so I’ll take some more gold from the gnome and others for now.
